Founded in December 2010, Sustainable Planning Solutions, is a private and 100% black female-owned company, located in Cape Town, South Africa.
The Sustainable Planning Solutions team offers a wealth of experience and expertise in providing professional services in the urban and regional planning sector to built environment clients. We adhere to high levels of business ethics.

Candice Maasdorp
Candice Maasdorp, a registered member of the South African Council for Planners (SAPLAN), is the Founder and Managing Member of Sustainable Planning Solutions. She completed a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Stellenbosch, specialising in Music and Psychology in 1997. In 1999, she completed her Master’s Degree in Town and Regional Planning at the University of Stellenbosch.
Her more than 20 years of experience in the built environment and development stretches back to when she launched her career as a town planner with BCD Town and Regional Planners based in Table View, Cape Town, in 2001. In December 2010, Candice registered her own Town and Regional Planning Consultancy under the name of Sustainable Planning Solutions. Since 2008, Candice has held a position on the Executive Committee for the Western Cape Branch for the South African Black Technical and Allied Careers Organisations (SABTACO).
She was later elected as the chairperson for the 2012 – 2014 term. Candice has been a member of the national Executive Committee for SABTACO since 2017. In 2017, Candice was one of the 20 industry professionals selected for the Investec and En-novate Young Entrepreneurs trip to Helsinki, Finland. In 2022, she was selected to the position of vice chairperson for the Women in Planning South Africa (WiPSA).
